Vintage, silver plate Quaich cup and bowl, a traditional shallow Scottish cup with two small handles, used as a cup of friendship or loving cup to offer a drink to guests, clan members and travellers. The two handle design required the drinker to hold the vessel with both hands which served as a symbol of trust, hospitality and peace. Makers marks to both pieces, The Quaich Co Ltd Scotland.
